From a Distance

Traveling from afar, strength began to decrease
I asked around, "is this Bethlehem?" tell me please!
Then on Christmas day I followed with ease
Led by a night star with the brightest release

Through the heat of Africa, then a sudden cold breeze
The winter snow like a cop said to me " hey freeze!"
But I shook, I shivered, my skin began to squeeze
I got to Bethlehem, nothing else could make me Sneeze

Visitors entered the city, unlike present day refugees
They bowed to worship the new born king on their knees
I joined them and we danced around like Christmas trees
and presented gifts to Mary and Joseph in group of threes

In white beards, on red cap, trousers and long sleeves
We had celebrities come around like Keanu Reeves
Hand-in-hand with palm fronds, flowers and leaves
We all came rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves

Nigerian Matters Arising; The National Cake.

In 1960, By now her people were fully awake
The Briton on the driver's seat applied the brake
Colonization left Nigeria with resources to bake
So drivers who took over began to speed and overtake

Hey! slow down!, Take a look at the national cake
Let us see what we could make if genuine or fake
It seems the cake designer made a big mistake
The cake was supposed to have everyone's handshake

That is not the case so there is a lot at stake
When few people take and many cannot partake
To avoid the Revolution, the resultant Earthquake
It is time to remake the National cake for Christ sake
