An open letter to lifetime

•Dear Past,

I have seen and read the last letter you sent
It had your signature and the usual scent
You got me thinking, what was your intent?
Well, your tent is a place I'm no longer content

It hurts and I know you smile when I lament
About the things I've been through and the way it all went
Guess what, there is something I found out of recent
That the future is an event you cannot prevent

Its over between us,
Sincerely, the Present.

•Dear Present,

I can see you are trying to recover very fast
After a series of flashbacks that hit you with a blast
Half-caste, yet looking like a flag at half-mast
I dare you to move on, I'm sure it won't last.

I'll see you later,
Sincerely, your Past.

•Dear Past,

Its been days, weeks and months down the line
For years you stole my joy and took my shine
From the failed relationships that got to my spine
Walking away, I'm moving on and  doing just fine

Sincerely, I've moved on,
A present you can't define.

•Dear Present,

How about the bad habits that still come around?
So much for your shortcomings and how they abound
You keep talking about how you are homeward bound
And forget the resentment holding you to the ground

Sincerely yours,
The Past,lost but found

•Dear Past,

Maybe forgiveness is right where I fell
For sure, my redemption has stories to tell
And I'm better than who I used to be as well
As for the 'Future', that's a word you can never spell

Remain my Past,
The Present, bidding you farewell.

•Dear Past and Present,

I saw and read your open letters on dailymail
So I thought wise to send you an email
What do you get when you visit the past in jail?
Painful memories hanging from the wall on a nail

We have a past in need of bail to no avail
When the present decides against all odds to prevail
So get on board, steer the oars, set the sail
You've come too far to give up or afford to fail

Sincerely,
The Future. Your tomorrow in detail
